The water is 73 degrees Celsius, squirts in pulses to 14 meters high, at a rate of 2,000 litres per minute. | |
This is a 1993 replica of the 1883 original, which was built on the location of the original 1520 town hall. It contains the Charles IV spring, which gives the town its name. | |
Built between 1871 & 1881, designed by Josef Zitek, this is the largest colonnade in Carlsbad. | |
In the top of the arch is a passage crossing the street. The passage passes through the full length of the castle, and then comes down into the town, terminating (I believe) in a church. The passage itself isn't a secret, but the chap who had it built wanted to be able to move around the castle and town without people knowing where he was. | |
The river is the Vltava, the same river that Prague stands on. | |
