  • battery = batteries, pile, cells, storage cells, accumulator, power store, energy store, DC (direct current) power, primary (single-use, disposable) cells, secondary (rechargeable) cells = See Battery University.
  • battery 12v lead acid = Lead-acid has low energy density compared to other rechargable types, but is cheap and robust and very well understood. Self-discharge is ~40%/year, good for rechargeable batteries, and maybe one quarter the rate of NiCd by comparison. Expected life might be 250 charge cycles and 10 years at 20°C, but halving in lifetime for every 8°C rise in ambient temperature.
