  • low energy = low power, high-efficiency, efficient, "green" = Typically LED or CFL, such "low-energy" lighting is many times more efficient (in terms of light output power for given input electrical power) than "standard" incandescent tungsten-filament bulbs, which of necessity must get very hot and generate a lot of heat.
  • low energy fluorescent = An electric current from the lamp's ballast flows through the gas (which includes toxic Mercury/Hg) contained in the tube of a fluorescent lamp, producing UV (ultraviolet) light which then excites a white phosphor coating on the inside of the tube, which in turn emits visible light.
  • low energy fluorescent compact = CFL, Compact Fluorescent Lamp

  • closeup = close-up/macro; tightly framed and imaged at a relatively large scale
