The demolition of the 19-storey Sandridge Court on the King's Crescent estate in Finsbury Park, north London (England), as watched from Clissold Park, Stoke Newington. The empty council block is reduced to a 15,000-tonne pile of rubble and dust by 1,300 explosive charges. More than 400 tennants were evacuated from neighbouring homes and the roads Green Lanes and Greenaway Close were shut from 8am to 2pm. The last things to fall are the three apparently ``coffin-like'' tiny lift shafts.
